Desktop App

The desktop app is our most powerful tool, allowing you to blur content across any application, including native windows like Slack, Zoom, or Terminal.

macOS

Download the .dmg file, open it, and drag to Applications.

Windows

Run the .exe installer and follow the prompts.

Linux

Download AppImage, make executable, and run.

Permissions Notice

On macOS, you will need to grant ScreenBlur "Screen Recording" permissions in System Settings. This is required for the app to draw the privacy overlays over other windows.

Chrome Extension

The Chrome extension provides a specialized experience for web-based workflows. It allows for more precise targeting of HTML elements within your browser.

Troubleshooting

Encountering issues? Here are the most common solutions to help you get back on track.

Blur overlay is not appearing

Ensure the app has the necessary system permissions. On macOS, navigate toSystem Settings > Privacy & Security > Screen Recordingand verify ScreenBlur is enabled.

Login issues

Check your internet connection and ensure your subscription is active in your dashboard at ScreenBlur.app/dashboard. Try signing out and back in if the issue persists.
